Yes we all know by now that Serena Williams is one of the most dominating figures in all of sport both literally and figuratively. She's super sporty with super sexy appeal. The 27 year old is already arguably the best to ever play the game on the women's side yet she still has alot left in her playing career. With over 60 titles under her belt she is #1 in career money earned with nearly $26 million. The right handed bomb-shell arrived on the scene in 1995 as her sister Venus was being spot lighted as the next big thing in the sport. Serena sat back until her time came, and when it did, she would not look back. Within the past decade Serena has seemingly come to embrace the role of being a sex symbol in the sport. With revealing and uniquely put together outfits on the tennis court. She has brought some style to the game that had for years been very pretentious and reserved. She has had contracts with tennis innovator Puma and most recently with Nike INC. but Serena's fashion doesn't end with these partnerships. In 2003 she launched a designer clothing line, "Aneres"which is her name spelled backwards and when her days in the game of tennis are over she plans to make the line into her own brand and with the way things are going in her profession now, it is hard to see the superstar fail in any endeavor.Thursday, September 3, 2009

Hard Fashion

Sean Avery has a bad reputation in the world of hockey, except for maybe of those teams that bear their name on his jersey. The left winger from Pickering, Ontario is one of the nastiest players on the ice today and has no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The ten year veteran has been terrorizing rinks ever since his passion for hockey had been discovered. In those ten years Avery has played for four different team (New York Rangers,Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, and most recently with the Dallas Stars) and it seems that trouble has followed him everywhere hes been, but despite his bad boy attitude Avery (29) has an interesting passion, fashion? Thats right, the NHL star has a keen sense of fashion and prides himself on it. In fact, Avery teamed up with Vogue magazine during the 2008 off season as an intern and even got the opportunity to guest edit a mensvogue issue during that time. But what really is interesting about Avery's fashion desires is that he is vastly interested in womens fashion! Dont let the tough guy fool you, he has been quoted as saying about mens fashion "you do suits and pants and thats about it, womens fashion tells a story, and thats what interest me". Whatever his preference in fashion, im sure whatever he chooses to do, it will be sure to turn heads.

Primo!
Deion Sanders is everywhere, he can be seen regularly looking
as suave as he did in his playing days on NFL NETWORK as a commentator, traveling from city to city nationwide in many business endeavors he involves himself in, or simply shooting hoops at the rec center in a men's basketball league. Regardless of where he is, one thing is for sure, he will be dressed to impress! Along with a select few like Michael Jordan, David Beckham, and Derek Jeter, Deion exemplifies fashion for athletes these days. whether it be rocking an Italian tailored suit with wingtip Farragamo or in an Armani with Gucci loafers, he is sure to be dapper in any event. Recently Deion teamed with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of North Texas to initiate a program to mentor young men through sport. He is raising the bar for many young men in the world of fashion and in life and his efforts are sure to be felt and his motto of "IF YOU LOOK GOOD, YOU FEEL GOOD, YOU PLAY GOOD" will ring louder than ever.

THE MAN
Tinker Hatfield is the man. He has transcended the world of athletic fashion in so many ways, yet he is one of the most unknown giants in the game. As a graduate from the university of Oregon, Hatfield studied architecture and he soon learned that he honed skills that could be ground-breaking in the realm of athletic shoes. With his Oregon background he soon landed the job at the nearby Oregon based innovator NIKE INC. and would embark on something the world would not be ready for... The Air Jordan sneaker changed the face of athletic shoes forever and to be quite honest, on most shoes to follow. He has been consistant in creating original design and his legend will be cemented in fashion history forever.
